Artist's Description
A Neptune ball, also called a sea ball or whale burp. They are fibrous marine material, and often other things like fishing line rolled together by the surf. They most often turn up after storms. This one was found on the beach at Plum Island Massachusetts after a blizzard in 2022
About Steven Nelson

I have always been active in art but took up 35mm photography in college during the 80s. Over the years, I have followed the advances in photographic techniques and technologies and enjoy exploring different methods and subject matter. Lately, I feel drawn to the worn and imperfect, showing moments of change and the passage of time (Wabi-sabi)

I have never seen one! So cool Steven!
Steven Nelson replied:
Thank you, my wife brought it home from snow shoeing at Plumb Island. I had never seen one either so had to take pictures. If you zoom in you can see all kinds of stuff in there
