About Steven Nelson
I have always been active in art but took up 35mm photography in college during the 80s. Over the years, I have followed the advances in photographic techniques and technologies and enjoy exploring different methods and subject matter. Lately, I feel drawn to the worn and imperfect, showing moments of change and the passage of time (Wabi-sabi)

Your photo was recently voted tied for 1st place in the "Man Made Disasters In Memoriam" contest. Thank you for entering this. I appreciate the starkness of the memorial and the photo. As a lifelong advocate of nonviolence I am always reminded my government in the 1980s sent money and weapons to some of the attackers as "allies" against the Soviet Union. Pardon me for saying that but I can not look at this without remembering the sad choices my own government made. If my comment seems offensive you can delete this. No offense intended. What a senseless tragedy. In the words of accidental civil rights legend Rodney King "Can't we all just get along? "

In this case it wasn't a 'manmade' disaster, it was a cowardly terrorist-made disaster. Congratulations on your first place in the Manmade Disasters In Memoriam contest. voted

Thank you! The story of flight 93 is also a testament to the courage of its passengers. Had they not fought back, the plane could well have reached the Capitol building
