Artist's Description
Damaged bust of George Washington from a war memorial in the graveyard at the Belleville Dutch Reformed Church in NJ founded in 1697, now home to the La Senda Antigua church. The overgrown and crumbling graveyard holds over 62 Revolutionary war soldiers and the steeple was used as an observation post during the Revolution
About Steven Nelson
I first studied black and white and darkroom photography at Muhlenberg College, where I graduated with a Bachelor's in both Art and Psychology. After graduation, I held multiple positions at the Visual Arts Center in NJ. Later I worked at a chain of camera stores where I was encouraged to learn and explore a wide array of photographic equipment and services. After a couple of years, I attended Marywood University, where I worked briefly in the school art gallery, and graduated with a Master's degree in Art Therapy. After some time working in the mental health field, economics drew me into first testing but ultimately developing software. All the while I continued to pursue photography, and most recently have moved to a mirrorless system...
